On May 3, 2020, a special run organized by the Wings For Life organization will be happening worldwide.
The objective of the run is to raise money for spinal cord research. All of the money raised will be put towards finding a cure for spinal cord injury. Since its creation in 2004, the Wings For Life World Run has attracted more than 620,000 people from 193 nationalities and 70 countries across the globe. This support has led the Wings For Life to support 211 studies and continues to contribute greatly to research both in Canada and the world. Currently, 63 research projects are ongoing, seven of these current projects are in Canada.
Fortunately, Okanagan residents don't have to go far to directly participate and support the Wings for Life Foundation. On May 3 a run will be held in Vernon that costs $30 to enter. Since February 18, Canadians are able to register online for the runs. There are nine Canadian Wings for Life fundraising runs and one of these is being held in the Vernon Okanagan area.
Don't miss out on an opportunity to participate and support this important foundation and enjoy a nice run that departs from Kekuli Bay Provincial Park onto the Okanagan Rail Trail. People of all skill levels and limitations are welcomed. More details and information can be found at the website.
