UBC Okanagan’s Urban Dance Club is busy preparing last-minute details for their fast-approaching dance recital, Danceology, that’s taking place on Saturday, March 14, 2020. This is the club’s biggest recital yet with over 20 routines and 80 individual performers.
Countless hours of practice and planning have gone into Danceology 2020. The UBCO Urban Dance Club executive members were responsible for planning the details of the recital including booking the location and studio space back in November 2019.
Rehearsals for the event began in January 2020 and have taken place each week since. The different routines, including various styles such as hip-hop, ballet, tap and jazz, were choreographed and taught by over 10 different members within the UBCO Urban Dance Club.
In addition to the performances from the Urban Dance Club, there will be numerous guest performances from local groups including UBCO IGNIS, UBCO ACSC, UBCO Beats, and The Kore Dance Project.
The recital will take place in the UBCO ADM Theatre with the first showing at 4:00 p.m. and the second showing at 7:15 p.m. Be sure to get your tickets online for $5, or at the door for $10, to support UBCO’s dancers and performers.
