ArtMart: The Secret Edition
This co-collaborated work is a community-driven experimental piece of contemporary art. It consists of a vending machine stocked with works by a vast array of artists. All the pieces are small, sized to fit in the slots of the vending machine. The works are also modestly priced, from $2 - $20 and are available to purchase through the machine by cash or card. The pieces range from pins to music downloads, small prints to mixed media work. The artists currently represented in this installation are Alison Beaumont, Ashleigh Green, Bailey Ennig, Cool Arts Society, Hanns Lujan, Moozhan Ahmadzadegan, Shauna Oddleifson, Steve Kwasniewski and Will Hoffman.
Chloe Corbet: CONCRETE (February 7 – 29, 2020)
CONCRETE is an exploration of industrial spaces and permanence: “this permanence-space is the intersection of aesthetics and utility.” This exhibition contains the work of Chloe Corbet, a recent BA graduate with a major in Cultural Studies from UBC Okanagan. The works traverse the active and passive engagement of materials in the mundanity of day-to-day life.
Christopher Lacroix – There is a minimum to operate properly (January 24 – March 7, 2020)
Christopher Lacroix’s work explores motifs such as the queer existence through the usage of performance, installations, video, photography and text-based pieces. This most recent exhibition utilizes audience participation and explores vulnerability and revelation in an interactive installation.
