Halloween bash in celebration of women artists at New Arts Collective.

The New Arts Collective is hosting a Halloween event on Thursday, October 31st, 2019, in celebration of female artists. Titled “Hallow-women-ween Night of Music,” this show is one of many live music events that New Arts Collective hosts. While known as an arts collective for artist residencies, gallery shows and instructional classes, New Arts Collective also puts on live music events from time to time.

This Halloween-themed event is featuring local synth-pop group Nixie, who is originally from Kelowna but is now based in Vancouver. Elle Wolf, October Poppy and Leila Neverland make up the rest of this all-female lineup. New Arts Collective is celebrating female musicians and artists with this event. Read on to learn about each of the artists performing (biographies taken from the event page):

“Nixie's desire is to captivate and inspire. Through their music, art breathes. These three women are defining a niche of electronic music that is edgy yet melodic; synth driven witch rock.”

Elle Wolf:

“Elle Wolf’s new Galactic Synth Pop sound is touching on dark places and the ghosts that follow. Influenced by her time in Europe and the electronic artists she has had the pleasure of working with, Wolf is crossing genres and blending scenes.”

October Poppy:

“October Poppy is the solo project of Eryn Kleyh. Her honest and raw stories come to life with acoustic guitar and powerful, emotional vocals, backed by melodic bass and jazz influenced drums.”

Leila Neverland:

“It is through her art that she creates ambiance, and it’s this unique ambiance that defines her art. Leila Neverland bares it all and encourages folk to let everything go as she vessels honour, trust, love, and togetherness. Her music is eclectic, timely, challenging, and her voice is just as big as her spirit.”

Tickets to the event can be found here. Entry is $25 and includes a drink. Doors open at 7pm and music starts at 7:30pm. Costumes are optional and the event is 19+.
