Draw By Night is an event organized by the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Studies at UBC Okanagan. The event, held roughly once every one to two months, aims to gather participants for an informal, social, community-driven arts meet-up. Anyone is welcome to attend the events, regardless of arts expertise or skill.

Typically, Draw By Night centers around drawing and sketching. However, other mediums of art are also explored. These collaborative drawing events are held at a variety of locations in Kelowna such as the Alternator Centre, Kelowna Art Gallery, the Kelowna Museums and at local businesses such as BNA. Participants of these events are diverse and from a variety of different backgrounds, including professors, arts students, hobbyists, etc. There also exist Draw By Night chapters in many other cities around the world.

Draw By Night’s 32nd event is a Halloween-themed event titled “MonsterFACE.” It will be held on Friday, October 24th, 2019 at the Kelowna Art Gallery. The event will take place from 6-8pm and is free to the public. Draw By Night will provide materials and utensils but participants are also welcome and encouraged to bring their own. Snacks will be provided.

Kelowna has many local, community-based arts collectives and events such as Draw By Night. Be sure to take advantage of these free events as they are a great opportunity to meet other creatives, build a social circle or just have fun!
