On November 4th and 5th, UBC Okanagan students overwhelmingly voted 'Yes' in the transit referendum to pay an extra $10 per semester to keep the U-Pass.

In the referendum, students were asked whether they were for or against increasing the mandatory U-Pass fee from $60 to $70 a semester to fund future transit improvements.

Out of 1108 total votes cast, 922 students voted Yes and 180 voted No - with 6 votes spoiled.

The result of this referendum means students no longer have to worry about the prospect of losing their U-Pass and can expect improvements to Kelowna Regional Transit in the near future.
